Setting priorities in CNF particle size measurement: What is needed vs. what is feasible

چکیده
Measuring the size of cellulose nanomaterials can be challenging, especially in case branched and entangled nanofibrils (CNFs). The International Organization for Standardization, Technical Committee 6, Task Group 1—Cellulosic Nanomaterials, is exploring opportunities to develop standard methods measurement CNF particle distribution. This paper presents a summary available measuring techniques, responses from survey on needs companies researchers, outcomes an international workshop nanofibril standardization. Standardization differed among groups, with Japanese mostly requiring measurements product specification production control, other needing safety/regulatory purposes grade definitions patents. Among all companies, average length width percentiles (D(10), D(50), D(90)) were most desired measurands. Workshop participants concurred that defining location(s) at which measure urgent complex question. They also agreed are needed rapid nanoscale. Our recommendation within ISO start work revise definition CNFs sample preparation guidelines. It was recommended further research done reproducibly prepare hierarchical structures characterize them, automated image analysis structures, classification system encompassing multiple ranges micro- nanoscale fully distinguish samples.

P-value: What is and what is not
The misinterpretation and misuse of p-value have been increasing for decades. In March 2016, the American Statistical Association released a statement to warn about the use and interpretation of p-value. In this study, we provided a definition and discussion of p-value and emphasized the importance of its accurate interpretation.

This study presented a mini review on folic acid deficiency and recommendations for its supplementation in thalassemia intermedia (TI). TI is a clinical condition which lies between thalassemia major and thalassemia minor. Although TI patients may not need regular blood transfusion, precise diagnosis and management are critical for the prevention of clinical complications and quality of life im...

Applied literature is a term that is the outcome of a need to put literature to tangible uses in the “real” world. A medical practitioner looking for a definition of life, for instance, finds literature a useful source for the answer. With paradigm shifts in scientific studies, interdisciplinarity has been a method to overcome the alienations that resulted from the isolation of disciplines from...

متن کاملWhat is the Clinical Skills Learning Center?
With shorter periods of hospitalazation, fewer patient beds and more health care facilities in the society, patients are now more acutely ill and highly dependent, causing less opportunities for medical students to practice and learn basic clinical skills. On the other hand, enhanced patient rights and other learnig limitations require that professional education provide not only knowledge and ...
